Hey there,

Its not mandatory to read the manual before you start the course but It will definitely help you understand the concepts on the first go. I sometimes had to read the lessons twice because I didn't completely understand it.

It is not mandatory before starting training.

Few actually read it before the course.

We notice that those who read it during the first few lessons perform easier than others who ignore.

The manual is a bit technical in places so take it lightly and move over parts you don't understand.  The training gives full comprehension of the manual because you see the theory from your own experience.

I must be an idiot! I downloaded the manual and tried to read it but my brain started to shoot sparks and finally short circuited. It's too technical for me to comprehend.

Hello All:

I do understand that there is a lot of flexibility here: To Read or Not to Read the GMS Manual first.
However, what is the best method to get the most from the lessons. Is it better to struggle through
the manual as an introduction to the concepts, or is it smarter to read on demand as a Reference
Guide?

Thanks,
DL

While reading the manual is beneficial it is not mandatory to start the training.

IF you want the best solution I'd say reading the manual before the lessons.   Even though that's not the choice I would personally take.

Don't worry about the parts that you do not understand.  I said read the manual NOT study it.   Skip over anything that you find confusing.

If you think struggle is necessary then you bought into a very dangerous myth.    While some training exercise will intentionally put some demand on the brain, nothing in this course should feel like a struggle.    If it does you're doing something wrong.

Ultimately it is the training that will give most sense to the manual so if you want to just read it lightly as you go through the training that's a good decision too.  Personally I'd do that, because it saves time.

Hi all,

I just signed up and finished my PM lesson 1 (hurray for me!) <img src="/kernel/lib/bbcode/images/smiles/2.gif" alt="Well" />

In Lesson 1, there are a few mentions of the GSM manual. Without knowing everything about Phenomenal memory, I'd say this GSM manual is suppose to be read before starting lessons.

But like a few of you, I too find reading the GSM manual extremely difficult. The ideas are so new to me, and so abstract, and so long (160 pages), I went through about 40 pages, and gave up before my mind explodes. I thought learning how to learn (and memorize) these things were what we signed up for. If we are able to read and understand this GSM manual before lesson 1, we wouldn't have to sign up to this course to begin with. LOL

I do go to the gym, and I do have the body that I want. so hard work is nothing new to me. No Pain, No Gain!
I'm going to read this GSM manual in parallel to my progress through the lessons.

Good luck to you all, and to me as well <img src="/kernel/lib/bbcode/images/smiles/2.gif" alt="Well" />
